From November 9th to December 9th, 2020, Center Norte hosts a part of the Vidas Negras program, launched at Museu da Pessoa in September, but will have most of its activities along November, once that’s the month of black consciousness. The full program involves a call for papers for black collectives and artists, an audiovisual show, a virtual exhibit, a podcast series, an educational program, live broadcasts and registers of life stories.
The exhibit at the mall highlights the stories of four people who have a very close relation to the North area of the city. The pieces are distributed in physical panels and invite visitors to get to know more about these people and others that are in the online version of Museu da Pessoa, the first virtual collaborative museum of biographies in the world.
The “Vidas Negras” program is a perspective look over Museu da Pessoa’s collection, which shows the everyday life of black families in Brazil in the 20th and 21st century. The exhibit at Center Norte is located close to Riachuelo.
